Storage Tips
Leave a path to the rear of the unit. Place frequently used items near
the front. Since
screws, nails or hanging anything on the walls is prohibited, use freestanding
shelves. Use
clean towels and sheets to wrap or cover items. Avoid using plastic as
it can accumulate moisture and may cause mildew damage. Clean all furniture, appliances, and clothing prior to storing them. Pack clothes loosely and cover furniture with clean sheets. Storing
Vehicles Appliances
must be thoroughly clean and dry. Keep freezer and refrigerator doors
slightly open by saving some empty paper towel cardboard rollers. Repeat
this with the freezer door as well. Store mattresses and box springs on long edges. Wrap with cloth for protection. Elevate off the concrete floor and up on skids. (We have these available free of charge.) Storing
Boxes Store
mirrors, glass table tops, and any flat glass in a sturdy crate on edge,
not flat. If no crate is available, wrap glass separately in blankets
or place heavy cardboard between each piece and place between mattresses. Bundle
long handled tools and tie together. Do not store brooms on their bristles. When
storing metal in non A/C space, wipe all surfaces with a cloth containing
a few drops of mineral oil. Do not over indulge -- a little oil goes a
long way. Storage of fragrant items or other aromatics or anything that causes an odor is prohibited. Storage of flammable, hazardous, pressurized, or toxic materials and liquids or aerosols that may spill or burst are prohibited. Drain oil and gas from all machines, small or large, prior to storage.
